Why can't I source a replacement thermostatic control knob, for a bristan hydropower 1500 power shower, they are still available to buy but I am told that the part I require is discontinued, the shower is only 2 years old.

I'm afraid the control knob was discontinued by Bristan themselves. From time to time manufacturers do make these decisions which is unfortunately outside of our control.
Looks like some retailers online are still selling the HY POWSHX MC shower itself, whereas others list it as discontinued. So I'd imagine some retailers just have leftover stock. The shower isn't on any of our supplier lists to buy now.
I would suggest to contact Bristan for further comment due to this being a decision made by them.
