  My MX DUO LX went through a period of when the power dial was turned to off position the "auto restart" LED would come on and unit would "bang" on/off periodically for 20 seconds with little dribbles of water from shower head in sync. After 20 seconds the LED would go out and all was quiet. Alternativley you could just remove power at mains switch and this would also stop the "bang".
  This is only relevant as this behaviour has stopped completely and replaced with no LEDS at any point during the shower. We have to turn the power dial to at least 10/11 to get any decent warmth but pressure of the water is low.
  It seems as if its on Summer setting, but when in fact if you turn to the lower setting its lukewarm at best.
  
  My shower is "on its way out" and I wonder which part(s) can correct as we are going to invest in a new bathroom in 2014 and need a stop gap!
  Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

  It could be either the pressure switch or the main heater element which is faulty. The parts can be tested with a multi meter to check for continuity on the micro switches (pressure switch) and or the main heat elements. The reason for the dial having to be so high and lose of pressure would indicate the electrical failure
