• The cartridges arrived promptly. Unfortunately I’ve had to return them unopened as they arrived the day after I needed them in an emergency. They look the same size as the Bristan cartridges but the washers on the bottom of these cartridges are white and not blue therefore I decided not to keep them for future use in case they’re not Bristan parts. I was able to contact Bristan directly to have the cartridges delivered next day guaranteed. Shower Spares were unable to provide this service. Otherwise I was very happy with the service from Shower Spares

• Their appearance is good look well made. It is impossible to rate their performance as just installed one cartridge and only time will tell if cartridge lasts as long.

• Quality is fine and fitting was easy. The only problem is that although they are listed as for a Bristan 1901 mixer tap it turns out that Bristan have changed the spec of that tap over the years so although this cartridge does indeed fit that tap it is a quarter turn ceramic cartridge rather than a traditional valve with washer. Not a problem in itself but the traditional tap opens in an anticlockwise direction whilst the ceramic tap opens in a clockwise direction, so this can be confusing with, say a hot tap opening in one direction but the cold opening in the opposite direction.
  Check with NSS which valve you need before buying. They are very helpful.

• The service from NSS was excellent. The first cartridges that arrived were the wrong sort, undoubtedly due to my photograph of the more than 30 year old taps. NSS sent the correct ones on as soon as they got them into stock, together with a return envelope for the first batch. Highly recommend - just send them better information than I did to give them a chance.
