• I had a dripping Grohe Lineare 15 year-old basin tap. The NSS help desk confirmed that I had chosen the correct cartridge replacement even though my model wasn't listed. Cartridge arrived promptly. Getting the top off the tap was a nightmare, however. The grub screw holding it faced backwards so not much room to work with the Allen key. It came out easily enough but the tap top still seemed jammed on. I spent a day squirting Limelite through the hole and eventually was able to lever off with a screwdriver. More Limelite on the shroud and that levered off. Then you need a 27mm box spanner and more Limelite to free the cartridge, again levering up. Removed any old seals and debris in the chamber before pressing new cartridge into place. Reassembled and drip had stopped!
  Service from NSS was 5* but for the whole experience I would dock a * due to the Grohe instruction sheet which showed exploded diagrams of what seemed their entire range of taps, cartridges and internal flow-regulating inserts which, even for me with an engineering degree, left me scratching my head desperate to see some words of explanation!
