This replacement on/off valve did not fix the dripping shower head. However, the part itself seemed perfectly fine. It was a genuine Grohe replacement. I’ll need to get back to Grohe’s technical support.

I have a Grohe Grohtherm Auto 1000 (34624 000) shower which has started dripping from the shower head. Can you advise me if the likeliest source of the problem is the Grohe ceramic head part/flow cartridge (45346 000) and, probably, a damaged Oring?

Recently moved into a house with a Grohe mixer shower no manual available, fault is with the on off control valve as it will not completely shut off water flow (dripping)
I do not know the shower unit number or the part number of the ceramic valve ( part is not with me at present does it have a part number stamped on it?).
Valve window (ceramic) seems to operate correctly and the seal to the unit housing look o.k also the seal on the end is complete with no visible damage.
Would the symptom I describe be the water passing through the ceramic window? and is the only cure a complete replacement valve.
Do not wish to spend a great deal of money as the bathroom and shower will be replaced in the spring.Hello, the only sure fire way to i.d the shower is to send a photo to

Hello, on the rear of Grohe 1000 there are non return valves also known as check valves, they are either jammed with limescale, so they could be de-scaled, if they are damaged then you need to replace them part number 47189 (pair)
