  What is the difference between the M2 and the M3? I was not able to find this information before I opened the box and looked at the instructions. In my case the two were interchangeable but I wasn't sure I'd actually ordered the right thing before I started the job.

  The allen key provided was a very snug fit and I could not engage it into the bolt for disassembly. Fortunately I did have a 4mm ball end allen key that did the job.

  The instructions aren't really adequate.
  Disassembly was much more worrying than re-assembly. Stubborn! It was really only by luck that I managed to get the head of the top off. The instructions would have been fine if the tap had only been in use for a day or two but after 15 years or so there were things I needed to know that just weren't there. If I use more force will I break the thing, etc? You tube films that I found only showed people working on new taps; realistic for re-assembly but hopeless for disassembly. For example, getting the big nut off to remove the old cartridge. The film showed a nice gentle adjustable spanner being used. For me that just rotated the whole tap. I ended up using a large stilson wrench. Worrying!
  Now the job is done, I'm happy but it was a bit stressful at the time.
  None of the above offers any criticism of National Shower Spares they were efficient (even at Covid time) and I'd use their service again.
