Having previously bought a new shower due to the incoming water filter encrusting with limescale. The shower will not work if the incoming water pressure is too low.
Having cheap, easily replaceable filters, is an excellent improvement.
If you live in a hard water area then a regular quick filter change could save you a lot of problems.
