I have an old style Triton T80 7kW electric shower which was working fine but suddenly stopped mid shower. The electric ceiling switch is lit but when the selector switch is turned to one of the operating positions nothing appears on the shower body i.e. no power light and no water pressure (green) colour - the bath and basin cold water feeds are fine so the water feed to the shower should be OK. Does this imply an electrical component problem and if so are there spares available for a shower of this age?
This could be due to the solenoid not opening the valve, causing the pressure switch to stay open, so no power will reach the micro-switches. In normal use, the shower’s power indicator does not light when the shower is used in cold mode. This failure mode can be described as a failed (open circuit) solenoid.
There may be other causes, so please always consult a qualified electrician to establish the true source of the issue. -

Hello, it is the solenoid that needs replacing, please double check the model as there are many versions of the T80, T80i, T80si, T80i Topaz etc
