If the arm on the microswitch side drops quickly it operates the switch OK, but if it eases down slowly it's not quite enough to operate the switch. Some lubricant on the pivot mechanism has improved it, but I'm now experiementing with a little extra weight on the switch side. I'm using this new one on a lower tank to protect the pump. The same switch has been used in the upper tank for many years and suffers from the same problem - it fails to switch on the pump 2-3 times per year on average.
